How to Modify an existing connection in Windows 2000
- From the Start menu, move to Settings, then choose Network and Dial-up Connections.

- Right-click on the tribcsp.com icon, and select Properties
- Verify that the phone number listed matches your local access number.
- Verify that the box labeled Use Dialing Rules is unchecked.
- Click on the Configure button.
- Verify that the Maximum Speed is set no higher than 57600.
- Click OK.
- Click on the Networking tab.
- In the box labeled This connection uses the following items:
- Check the box next to Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
- Check the box next to QoS Packet Scheduler
- Check the box next to Client for Microsoft Networks
- Uncheck the box next to File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks
- Highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click the Properties button.
- Verify that Obtain IP address automatically is selected.
- Verify that Obtain DNS server addresses automatically is selected.
- Click the Advanced button.
- Check the box next to Use Default Gateway on remote network.
- Check the box next to Use IP Header Compression.
- Click OK.
- Click OK.
- Click OK.
- Close the Network Connections window.
