How to Modify an existing connection in Windows Millenium Edition
- From the Start menu, choose Settings.
- Select Dial-Up Networking
- Right-click on the tribcsp.com icon, and select Properties
- Verify that the phone number listed matches your local access number.
- Verify that the box labeled Use Area Code and Dialing Properties is unchecked.
- Click on the Configure button.
- Verify that the Maximum Speed is set no higher than 57600, and Only connect at this speed is unchecked.
- Click OK.
- Click on the Networking tab.
- Check the box next to Enable Software Compression.
- Uncheck the box next to Record a log file for this connection.
- Uncheck the box next to NetBEUI.
- Uncheck the box next to IPX/SPX Compatible.
- Check the box next to TCP/IP.
- Click on the TCP/IP Settings button.
- Verify that Server assigned IP address is selected.
- Verify that Server assigned name server addresses is selected.
- Check the box next to Use IP header compression.
- Check the box next to Use default gateway on remote network.
- Click OK.
- Click OK.
- Close the Dial-Up Networking window.
