How to Configure the Mac OS X Network Panel for Dial Up Access
- From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
- Click the Show All icon.
- Click the Network icon.
- Click the arrow box on the Show pop-up list and choose Internal Modem.
- Click on the TCP/IP tab.
- Click the arrow box on the Configure pop-up list and choose Using PPP.
- Click on the PPP tab.
- In the Service Provider field, type tribcsp.com.
- In the Telephone Number field, type the 7-digit local access number from line 3 of your password sheet.
- In the Account Name field, type your Username from line 1 of your password sheet.
- In the Password field, type your Password from line 2 of your password sheet.
- Check the box next to Save password.
- Click the PPP Options button.
- Check the box Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications.
- Uncheck the box Prompt to stay connected.
- Uncheck the box Disconnect if idle.
- Check the box Disconnect when user logs out.
- Check the box Send PPP echo packets.
- Check the box Use TCP header compression.
- Uncheck Connect using a terminal window.
- Uncheck Use verbose logging.
- Click the OK button.
- Click on the Proxies tab.
- Uncheck all the boxes.
- Click on the Modem tab.
- Click the arrow box on the Modem pop-up list, and choose Apple Internal 56K Modem (v.90).
- Check Enable error correction and compression.
- Click Sound: On.
- Click Dialing: Tone.
- Check Show modem status in menu bar.
- Click Apply Now.
- Close the Network window.
