How to Create a Dial Up Networking Connection in Windows 95 or 98
- Open My Computer icon.
- Open the Dial-Up Networking folder.
- Open the Make New Connection icon.
- In the box labeled Type the name for the computer you are dialing, type tribcsp.com and click the Next button.
- In the Telephone number box, type the 7-digit local access number from your password sheet.
- Click on the Next button, and then click on the Finish button.
- A new Dial-Up Networking icon named tribcsp.com should now be listed.
- Click one time, using the right-side mouse button, on the icon.
- From the pop-up menu choose Create Shortcut.
- Windows will prompt with a dialog box Windows cannot create a shortcut here, do you want the shortcut to be placed on the desktop instead? click on the Yes button.
- Close any open windows.
- Open the Shortcut to tribcsp.com icon on your desktop.
- In the User name field, type in your Username from line 1 of your password sheet.
- In the Password field, type in your Password from line 2 of your password sheet.
- Check the box next to Save Password*.
To Connect:
- Open the Shortcut to tribcsp.com on your desktop.
- Click Connect.
* Note: Your password won't be permanently saved until you connect for the first time.
