How to Create a Dial Up Networking Connection in Windows Millennium Edition

  1. From the Start menu, move to Settings, then choose Dial-up Networking.
  2. Open the Make new connection icon.
  3. In the field Type the name for the computer you are dialing, type tribcsp.com and click the Next button.
  4. In the Telephone number field, type the 7-digit local access number from line 3 of your password sheet.
  5. Click the Next button, and then click on the Finish button.
  6. A new Dial-up Networking icon named tribcsp.com should now be listed.
  7. Click one time, using the right-side mouse button, on the icon.
  8. From the pop-up menu choose Create Shortcut.
  9. Windows will prompt with a dialog box Windows cannot create a shortcut here, do you want the shortcut to be placed on your desktop instead? Click on the Yes button.
  10. Close the Dial-up Networking window.
  11. Open the Shortcut to tribcsp.com icon on your desktop.
  12. In the User name field, type in your Username from line 1 of your password sheet.
  13. In the Password field, type in your Password from line 2 of your password sheet.
  14. Check the box next to Save Password*.

To Connect:

  1. Open the Shortcut to tribcsp.com on your desktop.
  2. Click Connect.

* Note: Your password won't be permanently saved until you connect for the first time.
