How to Create a Dial Up Networking Connection in Windows XP (Home or Professional Edition)

  1. From the Start menu, choose Control Panel.
  2. In the upper-left, click Switch to Classic View.
  3. Open the Network Connections icon.
  4. In Network Tasks menu, select Create a new connection.
  5. This will start the New Connection Wizard. Click the Next button.
  6. Choose Connect to the Internet and click the Next button.
  7. Choose Set up my connection manually and click the Next button.
  8. Choose Connect using a dial-up modem and click the Next button.
  9. In the ISP Name field, type tribcsp.com and click the Next button.
  10. In the Phone Number field, type the 7-digit local access number from line 3 of your password sheet and click the Next button.
  11. In the User name field, type your Username from line 1 of your password sheet.
  12. In the Password field, type your Password from line 2 of your password sheet.
  13. In the Confirm password field, retype the same password from line 2 of your password sheet.
  14. Check the box next to Use this account name and password when anyone connects to the Internet from this computer.
  15. Check the box next to Make this the default Internet connection.
  16. Check the box next to Turn on Internet Connection Firewall for this connection.
  17. Click the Next button.
  18. Check the box next to Add a shortcut to the connection to my desktop.
  19. Click the Finish button.
  20. Close the Control Panel.
