How to Create a Dial Up Networking Connection in Windows XP (Home or Professional Edition)
- From the Start menu, choose Control Panel.
- In the upper-left, click Switch to Classic View.
- Open the Network Connections icon.
- In Network Tasks menu, select Create a new connection.
- This will start the New Connection Wizard. Click the Next button.
- Choose Connect to the Internet and click the Next button.
- Choose Set up my connection manually and click the Next button.
- Choose Connect using a dial-up modem and click the Next button.
- In the ISP Name field, type tribcsp.com and click the Next button.
- In the Phone Number field, type the 7-digit local access number from line 3 of your password sheet and click the Next button.
- In the User name field, type your Username from line 1 of your password sheet.
- In the Password field, type your Password from line 2 of your password sheet.
- In the Confirm password field, retype the same password from line 2 of your password sheet.
- Check the box next to Use this account name and password when anyone connects to the Internet from this computer.
- Check the box next to Make this the default Internet connection.
- Check the box next to Turn on Internet Connection Firewall for this connection.
- Click the Next button.
- Check the box next to Add a shortcut to the connection to my desktop.
- Click the Finish button.
- Close the Control Panel.
