What is Communigate e-mail?

Communigate is a program running on our mail server that allows users to access their e-mail accounts from remote locations using a web browser.

It allows users to send and receive e-mail as they would in a computer-based client like Outlook Express. It also has an address book and configurable message rules that users can access.

How do I get to Communigate?

What is my Login name and Password?

For this information you will need your tribcsp.com password sheet. On the password sheet, look for line 8. The information on line 8 is your username, which should be entered into the Login Name field. The password would be located on line 9. This information needs to be entered into the Password field.

How do I read my messages?

When you log into Communigate, you will be taken to your inbox. On this screen you will see a few headers: Status, From, Subject, Size, and Received. Everything listed below here is e-mails that have been received and waiting in the inbox, on the server. To open an e-mail, you want to click the name listed under the From header.

How do I delete my messages?

There are two ways to delete your messages. You can delete it from the main inbox window, or from inside the e-mail. When you are in the main inbox window, you will see some empty check boxes on the left hand side. Check one, or multiple messages that you wish to delete, and select the delete button down at the very bottom. This will delete the checked messages. From inside the e-mail, you will see a box towards the top and at the bottom with several things in it. These include Next Unread, Reply, Reply to All, forward, back to inbox, delete, set flag, and close as unread. To delete the message you are in, select delete.

How do I send email when I'm not at my home computer?

  1. Access the web-based email system
  2. Click the Compose link at the top.
  3. Enter the email addresses for your recipient(s) in the To: (or Cc: or Bcc:) box.
  4. Enter your subject in the Subject: box.
  5. Type your message in the large textbox.
  6. (Optional): Add an attachment by clicking on the Browse... button and selecting the file you want to attach.
  7. Click the Send button.

I want to send a picture by e-mail; how do I do that?

When you compose a message, down at the bottom you will see 3 spots named Attachment. To the right hand side there is a Browse button. When you click on this button, it will open a window and allow you to view folders on your computer. Browse to the correct location of the image you would like to send, select it, and click ok. This should enter the path name into the Box to the right hand side of Attachment. Then click send up at the top.

What is this Junk folder?

We all know there is a lot of spam emails that most people do not want to see. On our e-mail servers, we have a mail sorting system that rates all incoming mail on a point system. When an e-mail exceeds an allowed numbers of points, it is then labeled as junk, or bulk e-mail and sorted to the Junk Mail Folder. For more information on the Junk email filter, visit our Spam FAQ.

How do I adjust my filters for Junk messages?

When you are in the Communigate system, towards the top you will see Mailboxes, Compose, Settings, External, and Log Out. To adjust or create new message rules, you would select the Rules option. This will take you into a screen that will list your rules, and allow you to edit them. Why do I get disconnected (logged out) after just a few minutes?

Some ISP's have certain security settings that change a users IP address to protect them. Some ISP's have it to set to have every few minutes, to every 30 minutes or so. If you are having problems with this, you will need to contact Technical Support so the correct settings can be set to allow you access to Communigate.
